About ŠDF

The International Šibenik Dance Festival (SDF) is considered to be the contemporary dance festival with the most beautiful venues in Europe. Over the past decade, since its first edition in 2011, we have welcomed numerous dancers, choreographers, and companies to our amazing stages. SDF brought to Šibenik’s audiences some of the most unforgettable European and world contemporary dance performances. Among the many, SDF presented the works of established choreographers such as Andonis Foniadakis, Xie Xin, Masha Kolar, Maciej Kuzminski, Balázs Vincze, Aleksandar Ilic, Isidora Stanisic, Igor Kirov, Rita Gobi, and more recently, Eva Duda, Olivia Court Mesa, Kate Jablonski and many others.

We could not have provided any of the opportunities for them to perform on these stages without the steadfast support of the City of Šibenik, the whole community, especially our partner in project – The Fortress of Culture. SDF provides space for networking with renowned choreographers, dancers and teaching artists. Sibenik Dance Festival is carefully followed by international festival curators, national press, critics and passionate audience. Its programme is rich and diverse, open to the infinite shades of contemporary dance.

The Festival is composed of:

– Main Programme, dedicated to established companies: This programme is presented at the European top venues, the medieval fortresses St Michael’s and Barone.
– Downtown show, Art Cube off programme, dedicated to youth companies and pre-professionals;
