The starting image that inspired the choreographer is that of the snow that you observe when you are little at the window, white outside and warm inside, which gives a sense of protection and community. Starting from these sensations, the artist involves in the project “The crochet club”, a group of women who, during the pandemic, met to reinvent themselves, rediscovering an almost forgotten art, transforming it into a new work. This is a surprising affinity, since it is said that crochet work was born in a small village, where a lady, very skilled in craftsmanship, was fascinated by the spectacle of snowflakes falling on her windowsill and tried to reproduce their beauty with a cotton thread and a large curved needle. By intertwining these elements, the spectator is invaded by a sudden snowfall of bodies in movement, time stops in front of a serene contemplation. Wellbeing is just that. Repair a relationship with a loved one. Discover a new part of yourself and commit to nourishing it, always sewing a new piece of it. Compose a choreography as if it were crochet: an intricate yet sophisticated plot, a conscious weaving that generates new forms. Building, sewing, mending, reinventing. The two performers on stage with their bodies perform a plot, a conscious interweaving of movements inspired by precious artisanal embroidery, generating new bodily forms.

ADRIANO BOLOGNINO is a choreographer born in Naples in 1995. In 2024, the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and the ZFIN, National Company of Malta, commissioned him a new work. As a freelance choreographer, he has created several works, including “SKRIK” (2023) for the MM Contemporary Dance Company and “DIVINA” (2023) for the Opus Ballet Company. He also worked with Eleonora Abbagnato and Jacopo Tissi for MFW23 and Ferrari Cavalcade23. His creations were produced by the Körper National Dance Production Center and co-produced by ORSOLINA 28. Among his most recent works, “SAMIA” (2023) won the Rum for Dans tender and debuted in Sweden in co-production with ORSOLINA28 Staatstheater Darmstadt/Hessisches Staatsballet, IIC Cologne. Adriano has also worked in the field of professional training with international organizations and has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the Danza&Danza award and the “Città di Foligno” award in 2022.
