The Šibenik Dance Festival is one of the most exciting and dynamic dance festivals in Europe. It is showcasing work of public dance schools, art organizations, associations and youth companies.
The ART CUBE program is aimed at bringing the young dancers together, connecting them through the work process, lectures, discussions, evening performances and free time spent together. The vision we had when we envisioned this programme is to follow the journey a young dancer goes through with their first dance moves to becoming a professional, working dancer, a Šibenik Dance Festival guest perfomer.
The Art Cube as a kind of young dancers ‘fringe’ program is designed to provide a platform for dance students and pre-professionals to showcase their talents and gain exposure in the dance world. The YED program invites dance students and pre-professionals to submit their work for consideration, and the best of it is featured as a part of the festival’s main program. Those who are selected will have the opportunity to perform in front of a live audience and to be seen by festival programmers and producers. By investing in their promotion, media visibility, providing them with the opportunity to showcase their work and connect with industry professionals, we have helped young emerging dancers to take the next step in their dance careers.
For our young adults we organize an educational program, workshops for experienced dancers as well as children’s creative workshops. We select pedagogues with an international reputation and get excellent feedback because of the unique opportunities that the Festival provides our dancers and that is to watch live performances by professional theaters and dance companies while having fun and learning at the same time.
