The creative team of ŠIBENIK International Dance Festival standpoint is to create moments of magic throughout the year. We want different communities, generations and cultures to connect, share and be inspired.
We believe that by creating new experiences and new encounters – whether in a concert hall, a community centre, or online – we can help everyone to discover more about what we share as humans but also to celebrate the qualities that make us different.
We appreciate and are grateful to all those of you who have supported us so far and have encouraged participation in the arts and the opportunity for everyone to experience and enjoy the International Festival.

Alongside our artistic programme we also deliver unique learning and engagement opportunities, all year-round.
We aim to widen access to the International Festival through specific ticketing initiatives such as accessible performances for audiences with specific requirements, as well as programming and marketing initiatives to reach new and under-represented audiences.
For the Festival specific projects, with your help we are encouraging participation in the arts by young people, resulting in positive social and educational impacts on individuals, schools and communities. Along with our partner The Fortress of culture, SDF has created a programme Dancing classrooms with the aim to be partnering with public schools. Dance can help restore joy and stability in troubled lives and ease the tensions in schools that are disrupted by violence and bullying. We intend to do lecture demonstrations for free all over the city at schools. We all have that same feeling and understanding that this needs to happen. There’s such a void. Art and drama classes are the first thing to get cut out of public schools. The arts is there to generate and stimulate creativity and thought; it’s where innovation and change come from. It’s a community service. You have to give back, and you can never give enough.
